No change from yesterday, but when one of the adults is sitting on the nest, they seem to be a lot more chirpy, which makes me think they’re talking to the babies in the eggs.

I saw the changing of the guard today.  One of the adult coots got off the nest, and the other one clambered on in order to protect the eggs sitting there.

I’m still a little disappointed we don’t have babies, but I heard there was a heron hanging around yesterday, so it might be better if they don’t hatch.

Nothing has happened.

Mama coot sitting on the nest

Come on…it’s definitely been more than three weeks.

The only exciting thing I’ve seen is a juvenile coot hanging out with a teenage duckling.

Fight the power, little dudes.
